Kindergarten Room
A.C.E Child Care Centre operates a Kindergarten Program registered with the Department of Education and Training.
The program is led by our qualified Kindergarten Teacher, Diana Giasoumi, who holds a Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) and a Diploma of Teaching – Early Childhood.
Our Kindergarten Room caters for children aged 3 to 5 years and runs five days a week alongside our long day care program.
A stimulating and challenging curriculum is planned to help each child reach their fullest potential — physically, emotionally, socially, and intellectually. Learning experiences are tailored to each child’s developmental level and interests, fostering confidence, independence, and a love of learning.
Educators maintain detailed developmental profiles and observations for every child, ensuring that our program continues to meet individual learning needs and goals.
School Readiness Program
Our School Readiness Program helps prepare children for a smooth and confident transition to school. We focus on developing:
Independence in managing time, belongings, and personal needs
Social and emotional maturity to build resilience and confidence
Language and fine motor skills for effective participation in classroom activities
Cooperation, turn-taking, and self-regulation skills for school and beyond
Our aim is for each child to leave the kindergarten program feeling confident, capable, and excited about the next step in their learning journey.

Social and Emotional Development
We place a strong emphasis on helping children understand and express their emotions in positive ways. Through group discussions, stories, and play, children learn to:
- Identify and talk about their feelings
- Develop empathy and kindness toward others
- Build self-confidence and a positive self-image
- Manage emotions constructively during challenging moments
These early social and emotional skills form the foundation for lifelong wellbeing and healthy relationships.
Problem Solving and Thinking Skills
Children are encouraged to explore, question, and think critically as they engage in daily learning experiences. Educators provide open-ended materials and real-world challenges that allow children to:
- Experiment, test ideas, and find solutions
- Develop curiosity and persistence
- Make predictions and reflect on outcomes
- Strengthen their reasoning and decision-making abilities
By learning to solve problems independently and collaboratively, children gain valuable confidence and creativity in their thinking.

Cooperation and Turn-Taking
Social learning is at the heart of our Kindergarten program. Through group games, projects, and shared play, children learn to:
- Take turns and share resources
- Listen to others’ ideas and express their own respectfully
- Work together towards common goals
- Appreciate teamwork and fairness
These experiences help children develop the social skills and respect for others that are vital for a successful transition to school.
Building Resilience
Resilience — the ability to bounce back from challenges — is a key focus in our program. Educators support children to:
- Try new things and take manageable risks
- Learn from mistakes and persist through difficulties
- Develop coping strategies and self-regulation skills
- Celebrate effort and progress as much as success
We believe resilience builds confidence and a “can-do” attitude, helping children face new environments like school with optimism and strength.

Literacy and Numeracy Focus
We have a strong literacy focus through daily reading, writing, listening, speaking, and storytelling experiences.
Our numeracy program encourages children to explore mathematical ideas such as shape, space, measurement, number, and time in fun, hands-on ways.
Gross and Fine Motor Development
We support physical development through a range of gross motor activities - climbing, balancing, hopping, dancing, and ball games — that strengthen large muscles and coordination.
Children also refine fine motor skills through cutting, pasting, painting, drawing, threading, puzzles, and play dough play - all essential foundations for early writing and self-help skills

Sustainability and Environmental Awareness
Our Kinder program encourages children to care for the environment through hands-on learning experiences such as:
- Growing vegetables and planting
- Using recycled materials in creative projects
- Sorting and recycling waste appropriately
- Composting and caring for our garden
- Discussions and games that build environmental awareness
Victorian Government Free Kindergarten Funding
The Victorian Government provides funding for 3-year-old and 4-year-old Kindergarten programs. A.C.E Child Care Centre receives this funding directly, and it is used to offset the kindergarten program component of your out-of-pocket fees after the Child Care Subsidy has been applied. Fees are reduced weekly for eligible families.

Toddler Room
At A.C.E Child Care Centre, our Toddler Room curriculum is built around the idea that children learn best through play and exploration. What may look like “just play” is serious work for children, it builds creativity, problem-solving, and important life skills.
Our Toddler Room caters for children aged 18 months to 3 years. We provide a safe, secure, and stimulating environment where toddlers can develop their independence, confidence, and curiosity. Each day offers new opportunities to discover, explore, and learn through hands-on, meaningful experiences.
Educators plan a challenging and engaging program that supports every child’s physical, emotional, social, and intellectual development. Observations and developmental profiles are used to ensure that each child’s learning experiences are purposeful and individually tailored.
Babies Room
At A.C.E Child Care Centre, our Babies Room provides a nurturing, caring, and safe environment where our youngest children can learn, grow, and develop at their own pace.
Through close observations and open communication with families, our educators build a deep understanding of each baby’s strengths, needs, interests, and routines. This helps us create meaningful, responsive experiences that support every child’s individual learning journey.
Our program is based on the belief that babies learn through play. What may look like “just play” is in fact the foundation for all future learning, helping babies develop their senses, coordination, communication, and curiosity about the world around them.
The Babies Room offers a range of stimulating experiences to foster development and build trust through one-on-one and group activities. Babies enjoy music, movement, stories, sensory play, and outdoor exploration, all guided by caring educators who nurture each child’s emerging skills and independence.
Routines and Relationships
We understand the importance of following each baby’s individual home routine. Our educators work closely with families to ensure consistency in feeding, sleep, and care routines. This helps babies feel secure, comfortable, and confident in their environment.
Communication and Early Learning
Educators support the early stages of language development through songs, stories, and gentle conversation. Babies are encouraged to express themselves through gestures, sounds, and play, helping them form trusting relationships and a sense of belonging.
Sensory Exploration
Through touch, movement, music, and exploration of natural materials, babies strengthen their sensory awareness, coordination, and motor skills. These experiences help lay the foundations for future learning, confidence, and curiosity.
Sustainability and Environmental Awareness
Even our youngest learners are introduced to the natural world. Educators involve babies in simple experiences such as watering plants, exploring textures in nature, and learning to care for living things — helping foster an early love and respect for the environment.
